Welcome to Nightjar Radio. Independent shows, unexpected records, and voices worth staying up for. Here’s your guide to tuning in, digging deeper, and joining the broadcast.
Tuning in
An independent internet radio station for restless ears. Our hosts play deep cuts, new releases, field recordings, and records they found in a box somewhere. Every show has a person behind it.
Press Listen live on the station page and you’re in. The player works in your browser on a phone or computer, with the current show and track listed beside it.
The live stream is open to everyone. Create a listener profile if you’d like to save shows, follow your favorite hosts, or keep a list of tracks to come back to.
Head to the archive. Each replay includes the full show, a tracklist, and a few notes from the host. Browse by date or start with whichever cover catches your eye.
Beyond the playlist
Our resident hosts and visiting selectors build their own shows. One might spend an hour on Japanese ambient records; another might connect a new club track to the soul sample hiding inside it.
Open the show’s tracklist and look for the time you were listening. If a mystery record slipped through, send the host a note with the show name and an approximate timestamp.
The schedule mixes live sessions, guest mixes, and archive favorites. Each listing tells you what’s coming up and whether the host will be in the studio as you listen.
Try First Light for slower mornings, Side Streets for unexpected connections, or After Hours for the long way home. Each show page has a short introduction to help you find your frequency.
Join the broadcast
Absolutely. Use the submissions page to share a private listening link, a few words about the release, and your contact details. Tell us which show feels like a good home for your sound.
Send a short outline, a sample mix, and the story behind your selection. We’re interested in a clear point of view, whether you’ve been broadcasting for years or are stepping up to a mic for the first time.
Some live shows leave room for listener requests. Check the show notes before sending yours, and include a dedication or the story of how you found it. The host decides what fits the hour.
